David Crosby Angers People on Twitter with His Opinion on Eddie Van Halen
David Crosby has never been one to self-censor when asked his opinion; indeed, he’s probably destroyed his relationship with former bandmate Neil Young with his habit of bluntly answering questions. But perhaps he should’ve picked his words (or in this case word) a bit better when a fan asked him what he thought of Eddie Van Halen.
Crosby was asked on Twitter, “I know you’re not into metal, David, but what’s your opinion on Eddie Van Halen?” Crosby responded with, “Meh….”

Considering Van Halen is freshly dead, plenty of people were outraged at Croz’s response, including Tracii Guns who tweeted, “F—this guy. F—this answer and most of all f— this guy. I don’t give a s— what anyone says. That’s bulls—, David.”
Dee Snider would Agreed. That said, I've always hated @thedavidcrosby AND his mustache. #JustSayin https://t.co/FdPaMEOdCW
Other people stated that the notoriously blunt Crosby was asked a question and simply gave his opinion, which is kind of what he’s known for.
You asked for his opinion and got it. Then, because you don't like his opinion you call him rude, uncouth and lacking empathy......he gave you his opinion on the man, not his death.

No, no,no. Man was asked his opinion, not to give a flowery eulogy. He gave it. Whaddya want?

When challenged with, “Yeah, the guy only changed the world of guitar. Geez, Dave,” Crosby responded with, “Hendrix changed the world of guitar. Nobody else really…look I get it…many of you loved Van Halen…and the one time I met he was nice…and he was talented …meh to me means I don’t care that much…and I don’t …doesn’t mean he wasn’t good, he was but not for me.”

What’s the lesson in all of this? While Crosby maybe should’ve given a more elaborate answer in the first place, maybe you shouldn’t ask one of the most forthcoming and, at times, brutally honest musicians ever his opinion unless you really want to hear it. Or you shouldn’t be too surprised when he gives his answer.
