Rick Springfield Teams with Coheed & Cambria for ‘Jessie’s Girl’ Sequel

Rick Springfield has joined forces with Coheed & Cambria on a sequel to Springfield's iconic hit "Jessie's Girl."

The song, appropriately named "Jessie's Girl 2," came to be after Springfield shared on Twitter that he just started listening to Coheed & Cambria and really liked their music. This then led to Coheed & Cambria singer Claudio Sanchez to reach out to Springfield for an idea about a sequel to "Jessie's Girl" that offered up her backstory and what happened post the original song's release. The exchange/pitch took place via Instagram Live and can be viewed below.

Long story short: The song is now a reality and comes with a video. Spoiler alert: Rick ends up getting Jessie's girl, but she ends up being a nightmare.
