Jon Bon Jovi’s ‘Blaze Of Glory’ Turns 30
August 7, 1990. Summer blockbuster Young Guns II had been in theatres for a week and the soundtrack–Jon Bon Jovi‘s solo debut–was hitting record store shelves.
The story goes that Emilio Estevez, who played Billy the Kid in both Young Guns films, asked Jon Bon Jovi for permission to use “Wanted Dead Or Alive” in the sequel. Bon Jovi did one better and wrote an entire album’s worth of songs for the movie. But he wasn’t alone.
The liner notes feature an all-star cast of guest musicians, including Jeff Beck, Randy Jackson, Elton John, Aldo Nova, Little Richard, and even actor Lou Diamond Phillips on guest vocals. Go back in time to the summer of 1990 with the trailer and a few select tracks below.
