Sharon Osbourne: Doctors Thought Ozzy ‘Would Never Walk Again’ After Fall

Ozzy Osbourne is still on the mend from a nasty fall he suffered in his home in 2019 which aggravated old injuries he sustained from his 2003 ATV accident that nearly ended his life. However, he's doing much better than doctors initially thought.

Sharon Osbourne said in an appearance on Steve-O'sWild Ride podcast, "He's doing good. He's doing really, really good. He's had a terrible, terrible injury. At one point they thought he would never walk again, but he is. He's walking and he's doing great...He's been hit by so much medically."

That last sentence is very true and borders on being an understatement. Before his fall which resulted in spine and neck surgery, Ozzy was hospitalized in late 2018 with three different staph infections in his right hand. He was then in the hospital with complications from the flu that then developed into pneumonia and resulted in a stint in the ICU.

In January, Osbourne revealed on Good Morning America he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He would later say in an interview with The Los Angeles Times that he was actually first diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2003.

Sharon added about Ozzy's fall, "To be hit with the spinal injury and then what it had done was it kind of started off the Parkinson's that he had the gene for but was never activated... he just had the gene. It's like having the breast cancer gene but it never comes into fruition, it never gets alive and he had the Parkinson's gene and this accident just sparked it off. He kind of had a double dose of everything, but he's doing good."

Sharon also said Ozzy's hard at work on a new album and is working with Andrew Watt again who produced The Prince of Darkness' latest album, Ordinary Man, which came out in February.

Now, as far as performing again, Sharon said, "Ozzy says that as far as performing goes, he had to end it his way...He's going to go back out and even if it's just one huge show to say goodbye, he's going to do it."
