Phil Collen Says Odds Are ’50/50′ of New ‘Stadium Tour’ Dates Going on as Scheduled
“The Stadium Tour” with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts was going to be one of the biggest parties of 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic had other plans.
While the tour’s shows have been pushed back to the summer of 2021, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen is still erring on the side of caution when it comes to the rescheduled dates.
Collen said in a new interview regarding whether the show will get on the road in 2021, “I honestly don’t know. I’d say it’s 50/50. If everyone does what they are supposed to do, then we will be there next summer.”
And by “if everyone does what they are supposed to do,” Collen likely is referring to all of the various guidelines many of us have been living with for quite some time now, from social distancing to washing hands regularly to wearing a mask in public, enclosed spaces.
Many of the venues booked for “The Stadium Tour” are certainly not enclosed and include some of the most popular and historic stadiums in the United States, including Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. Fingers crossed the masses will pack those venues this time next summer.
Now, go wash your hands. It couldn’t hurt, right?
