The Boston Red Sox finally have a schedule to their name.

The schedule will begin with a five-game homestand beginning on July 24 when the Baltimore Orioles come to town for three games, and concludes with a two-game series against the New York Mets.
After that, the Sox will head to Queens for a two-game set with the Mets and then a three-game series at Yankee Stadium. Seven of the team’s 10 meetings with Yankees will take place at Yankee Stadium, in fact. The Red Sox went 1-8 in the Bronx a season ago, and are 8-20 at Yankee Stadium since the start of the 2017 season.
And as rumored, this year’s schedule will be completely geographically-based, as the Red Sox will stay within the American League and National League East divisions throughout the entire 2020 campaign. That breakdown will see the Red Sox go against their in-division foes for 10 head-to-heads, while the Sox will play 20 total games against the N.L. East. That N.L. East slate will include six games against the Atlanta Braves, four games against the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, and three games against the Miami Marlins and defending champion Washington Nationals.
This 60-game run will include just six off days and is currently scheduled to end on Sept. 27 against the Braves.
Also of note: 23 of Boston’s 30 home games will begin at 7:30 p.m. locally. This is a change from the usual 7:10 p.m. Fenway Park first pitch, and will be done in an attempt to draw more primetime eyes to NESN.
As of right now, all games are currently scheduled to go on without fans. The Red Sox do, however, remain hopeful that they will be able to put fans in the stands at some point this season.
The Red Sox, who traded superstar Mookie Betts (and starter David Price) this past offseason, are coming off a third-place finish in 2019.
The Baseball Reporters with Tony Massarotti is If everything goes according to plan, the baseball reporters will return on July 21. For perhaps the first time in my life, I am now praying for a longer workday. 🤞
