’70s and ’80s Rock Fanzine ‘Trouser Press’ is Now Online and Free
If you were a die-hard fan of rock, punk, or new wave in from the mid-’70s through the mid-’80s, you probably came across Trouser Press.
The fanzine was launched in New York City in 1974 by British rock fans Dave Shulps, Karen Rose, and editor/publisher Ira Robbins. Over the years, the magazines focus shifted away from Led Zeppelin and The Who and toward the burgeoning punk and underground scenes on both sides of the pond. For rockers of a certain age, Trouser Press was the first place they heard about acts like Ramones and Joan Jett.
Now, the magazine’s entire 95 issue run is available online, for free. Click here to start reading. And yes, that’s Pete Townshend and Keith Moon on the cover of issue #1.
