Even though we won't be watching the Pats go for ring 7 this February, we'll still see some familiar Boston faces.
Hyundai (not a Boston company, FYI) is teasing a Super Bowl LIV commercial featuring Boston born (or adopted as our own) stars. Rachael Dratch (Lexington), Chris Evans (Sudbury), John Krasinski (Newton), and "Big Papi" David Ortiz (adopted by our bleepin' city) will be featured in a 60 second Hyundai Sonata ad.
According to Boston.com, the ad, shot in Boston, will run during the first quarter of the game and teasers will run during the 715 hours of pre-game hype (actual number of hours may vary.) And it's directed by another local, Bryan Buckley who grew up in Swampscott.
In a year when we New Englanders can watch the game without caring, we can instead focus on this $10 million dollars worth of advertising.
For now, enjoy this teaser where Rachael Dratch is coaching Papi on his Boston accent. It's a rippah.
