But on the day that Joker dominated the Academy Award nominations, Jared Leto, who played the clown prince of crime in the ill-fated 2016 film Suicide Squad -- he's not revisiting the role in the semi-sequel, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) -- has moved on to another super-villain.
He's going to star as Morbius in the upcoming film about the vampire who, in the comic books, is one of Spider-Man's arch-enemies. Like Venom, another film about a Spider-villain, Spidey won't appear in the film. But, as revealed in the trailer, Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes (aka the Vulture, the bad guy in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming) will be in the film.
