Queen’s “Thank God It’s Christmas” Finally Gets a Video
Just in time for the holidays, Queen have released a brand new animated video for their 1984 holiday song “Thank God It’s Christmas.”
So why, after 35 years, did the band finally decide it was time for a video? According to Brian May, it was a need to expand on the themes in the song: “The video goes a little further by including a subtle reminder that we as humans now need to feel a responsibility for the welfare of ALL creatures on Earth – not just for our own benefit, and that of our grandchildren, but out of respect for the rights of the animals themselves.”
Watch the animated video, featuring tenants in an apartment building–and a fox–all celebrating Christmas, below.
