Summertime ROCK: Guns N’ Roses ‘Appetite For Destruction’
We saved one of the best for last as we head into the unofficial last weekend of summer with one last edition of Summertime ROCK.
Says ROCK 929. Program Director Ken West: “More cowbell sounds more better in summer. Those are facts and this is exhibit “A.” I echo his sentiments: while Guns N’ Roses‘ debut album is essential listening any time of the year, it just sounds better in the summertime. Maybe it’s because the album was released in mid-July of ’87, maybe it’s the cowbell intro on “Nightrain;” Either way, Appetite For Destruction has earned a spin or two from you this Labor Day weekend.
So get into it below, then get into the rest of my Summertime ROCK and have a great long weekend.
