We're #4, we're #4...That's not usually something you chant or boast. But hey, considering the year the frustrating year the Patriots had. #4 is pretty remarkable.

Bowl LVII is almost here. And since football is on the minds of millions this week, let's dive into some stats. WalletHub released a report on 2023's Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans.

How did they arrive at the numbers and rankings? To determine the best places for "loving on America’s favorite sport,"  WalletHub compared more than 240 cities in the United States, with at least one college or professional football team, based on 21 key metrics. Their data ranges from the number of NFL and college football teams to stadium capacity to fan engagement.

Here are the top 15 cities for football fans:

1. Pittsburg, PA

Did this surprise you? Didn't another Pennsylvania NFL team have the best record this year? I guess it's just those die-hard Steelers fans that are pumping up the volume on this report. They show up. They are loud and they love their team, unconditionally.

2. Green Bay, WI

You knew the Packers would be near the top of the pack.

3. Dallas, TX

"America's Team" with a respectable showing at #3

4. Boston, MA

Here we are. We are little(in size as a city), but we're loud, and we love our New England Patriots. We sell out Gillette, and even show up to preseason games. Imagine how much more we would have loved them if they had a great season. There's always next year. Let's shake on that:

5. Los Angeles, CA

The big win last year in the Super Bowl likely catapulted the Rams into top 5 here.

6. New York, NY

Giants in the Empire State

7. Miami, FL

Dophins who dance...

8. Cincinati, OH

They love their cats in Cinci

9. New Orleans, LA

It's been a long time love affair in New Orleans for Saints fans, only heightened in the Drew Brees years, but carried today.

10. Kansas City, MO

Really surprised this Super Bowl bound team didn't rank higher. There is mad respect and popularity, in and out of KC, for this guy. Ladies and gentleman, Patrick Mahomes.

11. San Francisco, CA

A roller coaster season capped off by a run in the playoffs with 3rd and 4th string quarterbacks. Wild ride for the faithful fans of San Fran.

12. Indianapolis, IN

Peyton Manning's long run as QB lit up fans in Indy. Fans' hope still shines bright for a new season, despite this disappointing season.

13. Buffalo, NY

The little engine that could. It had been years of famine, before the feast of the past couple of years in Buffalo. A dynamo QB and posting the Ws renewed the dreams of the "Bills Mafia" in recent years. They've been the Cinderella story.

14. Glendale, AZ

Despite an abysmal season for the Cardinals, football is still a hot sport in the desert. Of course, the popularity of the Cards' JJ Watts, and college football likely drive up the rank up for football fans.

15. Philadelphia, PA

The Super Bowl bound Phili Eagles had a record year, and tied their big game opponents, the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record at 14-3. Philadelphia fans are infamous for much like Boston sports fans in that they are knowledgeable, passionate and loud.
