  • 1954

October 10, 1954: David Lee Roth is born in Bloomington, IN. He’s best known as the host of The David Lee Roth Show, which aired in Boston on the legendary WBCN from January through April of 2006. He also was the founding frontman of Van Halen. Really, though, he should be hosting Jeopardy!

  • 1972

October 10, 1972: Michael Dean Roland is born in Stockbridge, GA. You know him best as the guitarist in Collective Soul. He’s the guy who wrote this bluesy-ass riff.

  • 1988

October 10, 1988: U2 releases Rattle and Hum, the quasi-soundtrack to the rockumentary of the same name, which would hit screens 17 days later. Fun fact: Footage from the 9/22/87 U2 gig at Foxboro Stadium was considered but never used for the film.

  • 1995

October 10, 1995: Green Day releases their fourth studio album, Insomniac. They played a few tracks from that one when they played Fenway a couple of summers ago.
