In Between Days Summer Music Festival was announced back in June. It’s the latest in a string of locally-based summer music festivals.
The summer music festival season started, of course, with Boston Calling. Late last month, Nice, a fest went down in Somerville, with a focus on local artists and artisans. Earlier this month, another festival featuring local bands and creators, Lowell Summer Jam, took place both indoors and outdoors. All in all, this summer concert season has been a boon, festival-wise.
This weekend’s festival in Quincy is a bit of a different animal. The lineup features both local and national acts and is reminiscent of Boston-based music festivals of yore, like the River Rave and the Best Music Poll. Tickets are on sale now, and the festival takes place at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy this Saturday, August 20. So let’s take a look at who’s on the bill.
In Between Days Festival
The festival website breaks down their lineup like this: “Catbite kicks off midday with some awesome ska, through great indie-psychedelic tunes from Blac Rabbit, Kevin Devine, to Boston star Sidney Gish, Canada’s up-and-coming The Blue Stones, the classic Tennis, and then into the magical vibes of Hippo Campus, and of course the awesomeness of Manchester Orchestra.”
In addition to tunes, there will be ice-cold brews. Because no music festival would be complete without those, right? Two South Shore staples–Vitamin Sea or Widowmaker Breweries–will be on-site slinging suds. The Lunch Box will be serving food on site, and Bit Bar will have a retro arcade so you can came in between sets. Throw in ice cream from Chillwagon, lawn games, and vintage shopping, and In Between Days is shaping up to be a pretty unique festival experience.
