The 2024 rock forecast is showing clearer skies and hotter temps for rock fans, courtesy of news from three popular acts.

I’ve been spending so much time looking back lately that I figured we were due for a look-ahead. If you missed it, I made a pretty sweet list of all the new rock we played on ROCK 92.9 in 2023. On the personal tip, I’ve also shared my Top 12 Rock Songs and Top 12 Rock Albums of 2023. There’s a lot of stuff on those you won’t hear on ROCK 92.9 and that might surprise you, so check ’em out.

2024 Rock Forecast: 3 Things We’re Looking Forward To

1) A new Green Day album – This one’s set in stone. Saviors is set to release on January 19, 2024. We’ve already received a handful of new Green Day tunes that will feature on the album, including “Dilemma,” which you can check out here. There’s two more below. And don’t forget: Green Day is coming to Fenway Park in August with Smashing Pumpkins supporting. Enter to win your tickets here.

2) A new Pearl Jam album? – The question mark at the end of that one is there on purpose. We don’t know for sure that we’ll get a new release from Pearl Jam in 2024, but signs are pointing in that direction. Throughout 2023, there have been little tidbits of info trickling out onto the web about new Pearl Jam music and a new Pearl Jam album in 2024. We’ll dig into it further below.

2) A Rush reunion? – This is the long shot of the trio. But to quote Han Solo: “Never tell me the odds.” Turns out that there’s an outside chance that the remaining members of the band could reunite once again under the Rush banner. Let’s get into that story below and keep our fingers crossed for something new and Rush-related in 2024.

  • A Rush tour?

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson haven’t ruled it out. Get the quotes and the reason why below.

  • New Pearl Jam?

The new album is “in the can,” according to this band member. No release date set yet.

  • Green Day "The American Dream Is Killing Me"

This is the first official single from the forthcoming Saviors album, due out January 19, 2024.

  • Green Day "Look Ma, No Brains!"

Another new cut. I can pretty much guarantee you’ll be hearing this one on ROCK 92.9 in 2024.
