2023 Dave & Chuck the Freak .5K Recap

The 2023 Dave & Chuck the Freak .5K was an absolute blast, as it always is. Here's a .5K recap, whether you were there or not.

If you're not familiar with the event, here's what we do. Once a year, ROCK 92.9 sets up shop at Faneuil Hall. The folks from True North Running Company lay out a race course around the Marketplace that is precisely one half of one kilometer. Because that wasn't a typo earlier: this is an actual .5K. The course doesn't even wrap around the Marketplace fully. It's a beautiful thing.

We have a pre-race party at Ned Devine's to get all the racers warmed up and hydrated before the big race. And we return to Ned Devine's after the race for post-race stretches, more hydration, and a meet-and-greet with Dave, Chuck, and whoever else from the show comes along. It's always a fun time, always a good hang, and the 2023 edition was no exception.

This year, Dave, Chuck, and Lisa Way were on hand for the event. Dave took the stage a couple of times before the race to get the crowd hyped up. Then, we all gathered outside at the starting line as Dave and Chuck took the mic to get the race started. Just as this was happening, it started to rain. It was as of Mother Nature herself was blessing our beloved .5K.

Dave, Chuck, and Lisa hung out for hours after the race to hang out and take photos. We had a million laughs. We can't thank them enough for coming back to Boston to anchor such a fun and unique event. Thanks also to Ned Devine's, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and True North Running Company.
