The 17-yr-old is much better with the camera than I am.

Before we dive headlong into 2023, please allow me the indulgence of sharing how I spent my Christmas vacation.

If you’re new to ROCK 92.9, I’m Adam 12. I’m on weekdays after Dave & Chuck the Freak, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I’m responsible for the two-plus hours of commercial free rock you get after Dave & Chuck. I’m also in charge of kicking off two hours commercial-free weekdays at 3:45 p.m. before Hardy takes over at 4.

Now that we have all that sorted, I was afforded a week’s vacation over the holiday. It was the first time in a long time that I was able to take that particular week off. So naturally, I made the most of it…by doing absolutely nothing. OK, that’s not exactly true. I did quite a bit, as you’ll see in the photos below.

How I Spent My Christmas Vacation: 2022 Edition

The point is, I didn’t have to worry about putting together a radio show every day. Or writing and researching a bunch of pieces like the one you’re reading. It was just me, the kids, and the holidays. And that’s where we started, celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family. Christmas Eve dinner was had at the legendary Kowloon Restaurant on Rt. 1 in Saugus. I had Crab Rangoon and Peking Ravioli and washed it all down with a Suffering Bastard.

And that was just the beginning. Boy, did I eat and drink a lot over the holidays. So much so that I’m not just doing dry January, I’m cutting out sweets for the month as well. But isn’t that the point of the holidays? To cut loose after a year of work, to celebrate, to (over)indulge? I think it is. And I think I hit it out of the park. Take a scroll through and see what else I got up to.
