According to the reports from WPBF in South Florida, the case is finally closed on a botched insurance claim scam that took place in late February. The report states that in late February, a man called in a stolen vehicle to police. Shortly after, another man called in an accident. Police then reported to the scenes to gather what took place, that is when they began to get suspicious.
Next, the police decided to pull security footage from all over the area. That was when the entire plan blew up for this Florida men. In the footage, the police literally saw all. They caught the men meeting up on camera for a few minute conversation. Then, had video of one of the men stealing to car from and gas station and driving it into a light pole nearby.
Warrants were issued on March 30th, they now face charges related to false 911 call and insurance fraud.
Again, sitting on the couch with your buddies having a few drinks, this may sound like an amazing plan. But after reading and watching this story, it went just about as you thought it would. It is way too hard to get away with things in this world of surveillance we are in now.
Below is the mug shot of the man who helped his buddy by stealing the car from the gas station. He and the owner of the vehicle were taken into custody.
