A North Carolina mayor is the talk of the internet after not denying claims that he wasn't wearing pants inside the local town hall after hours. Why wasn't he wearing pants? Let's dive in.
According to WSOC-TV, he's the Mooresville mayor and he says that despite not wearing pants at the city hall he maintains he wasn't doing anything inappropriate. The town is now facing 2 lawsuits tied to claims against Mayor Chris Carney. A former IT pro at the town hall says he was fired in retaliation after he reported seeing the mayor walk around the building without pants on back in 2024, per WSOC-TV. WSOC-TV says Carney says that on the night of the incident, he met with another commissioner and several other people and had a bottle of wine and realized he left his phone down the hall so he went to go get it. He says he got sick after mixing wine with his medication and removed his pants because he threw up on them.
