We've been telling you for years to trust no one, help no one. This is one of those examples. A driver in Pennsylvania pulled over to help a man that was lying in the road. Well, it was a scam and he stole her car.
According to WEARTV, "A Carlisle man is accused of lying down in the road and then stealing the vehicle of someone who stopped to help him—and video from a neighbor appears to show the whole ordeal. Police said a call was placed to Dauphin County Communications around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, reporting that a male was undressing and lying down in the road near 32nd and Wayne streets. The neighbor's security video appears to show the man running in front of several vehicles before he started to undress. The Swatara Township Police Department identified the man as Mubarak Amin, 28, of Carlisle."
We aren't trying to be rude when we say to trust no one, help no one. But, this kind of thing happens all the time. Good Samaritans try to step up and someone is scamming them. You can always help by making a call to the police. You don't have to get out of your car and aid the person lying in the street. Even if we did, what could we do. We aren't equipped with the knowledge of how to save their lives.
This always reminds Dave of the time a man who looked like Mr. T was waving at his car from the middle of the road and he drove right around him. He knew better than to pull over and see what that guy needed at 3:30 in the morning.
Stay safe out there!
