Providence, Rhode Island, restaurants and bars are rolling out extensive Super Bowl Sunday viewing parties and specials as takeout and on-site dining demand peaks for the big game.

In Rhode Island, venues like Sports & Leisure in East Greenwich are offering first-come, first-served seating with free Prosecco for women. Meanwhile, Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Co. will feature drink specials and a game-day menu from Wally's Wieners starting at 5 p.m.

Below are a few more additional offerings as identified by The Providence Journal

  • Downtown Providence's Track 15 food hall will make available seven chef-driven vendors serving fare through the game.
  • La Forge Casino Restaurant in Newport will operate a buffet-style service from mid-afternoon to close for $15, with a $5 draft beer deal and a huge screen for viewing all the Super Bowl action.
  • The G Pub in Providence is hosting game-day platters, football squares, and a betting game with quarterly prizes and a final big prize giveaway.
  • The Rally Sports Bar & Grille in Warwick is promoting multiple menu specials and activities, including golf simulators, pool, and karaoke after halftime to draw crowds.

Super Bowl Sunday ranks as the second-largest takeout food "holiday" in the United States and a major dining-out event. In fact, pizza consists of nearly 60% of the food consumed this day, according to The Providence Journal.
