Officer ‘Merica

How quickly things can change. Dave started out by giving this police officer from a story a screaming eagle because his name is Merica and he saved the day. But, when Dave finds out the guy isn't very tall, he changes his tune and only gives him a Tweety-bird tweet.

According to Lynwood WA Police Department, "On 01/31/2026 Officer Merica attempted contact with a warrant suspect riding a bicycle near 196th St & Hwy 99. The suspect fled. On the bicycle. Officer Merica received a brief assist from a Lynnwood resident who happened to be driving by. The distance closed. Quickly. The suspect was taken into custody with more than $30,000 in active Lynnwood warrants and, as you may have guessed, an additional charge. This is why we love our community."

So, we started off by giving his the guy the "screaming eagle" because his name is Merica. And, we were impressed with how he apprehended the suspect. It was a very bad ass move to jump on the back of a pick-up truck and track down the suspect.

But, as we've learned, Dave can be somewhat of a height supremacist. And, when we find out this officer isn't the tallest, Dave changes his tune on the story. He even goes so far as to revoke the "screaming eagle" and only give the guy a Tweety-bird chirp!

Everyone else is trying to defend the officer and give him the props he deserves but just can't.

The bird chirping is not as emphatic and the MERICA passion is lost. Whose side are you on? Do you think this guy should lose a patriotic screaming eagle because of his height?!
