In Boston, the expectation is for about 15 inches of snow to accumulate between Sunday morning and Tuesday morning.

A picture is starting to become much clearer for what Boston and the region can expect from the massive winter storm moving its way across the country.
That picture shows nearly all of Massachusetts getting upwards of a foot of snow, with accumulations of 18 inches in some areas.
Along the Cape, lower accumulation totals are expected because much of the area will see sleet and freezing rain for a prolonged period of time. There will still be upwards of 11 inches of snow and sleet.
In Boston, the expectation is for about 15 inches of snow to accumulate between Sunday morning and Tuesday morning. Snow should begin arriving throughout the day Sunday, with the heaviest snow periods expected from 3 p.m. and 1 a.m. Monday.
