This story is now going viral on social media and I'm seeing it everywhere--and for good reason. There are a lot of funny pieces here and it all adds up to a hilarious incident--at least for us. I doubt the judge found it very funny. Especially as he goes on to plead guilty! Check out a video shared by Click On Detroit below.
'My Bad': Michigan Man Uses Cat Filter During Virtual Hearing
According to Click On Detroit, the 22-year-old Michigan man was appearing in court over Zoom when the filter accidentally activated on his camera. Sounds like it was an accident and wasn't on purpose.
In addition to the cat filter there was also a virtual background of the Golden Gate Bridge. He was in court to enter a plea on an assault and battery charge dating back to August of 2025.
The man quickly apologized and removed the filter, showing his face. He ended up pleading guilty and the court placed him under 12 months of non-reporting probation and a fine. He's also ordered not to have contact with the victim.
