According to The New York Post, the Louisiana woman, identified as 41-year-old Erin Elizabeth Sutton, allegedly tried to go for a skinny-dip but it didn't end the way she had planned. She allegedly attacked a deputy responding to a trespassing complaint before surrendering.

Police were alerted by a neighbor who said someone was standing in their driveway screaming and wouldn't leave. When officers arrived, Sutton was reportedly in a pond swimming naked. She told officers she was trying to be a mermaid, per The New York Post.

When an officer invited her inside to warm up, she allegedly charged at him, per The New York Post. They used a taser on her but sounds like it didn't do much. She continued resisting but was eventually restrained. She was arrested on several charges including 3 counts of resisting an officer with force or violence, 2 counts of public intimidation, 2 counts of battery of a police officer, disturbing the peace/drunkenness, and criminal trespassing.
