A dark ring was seen hovering over Disneyland in California. Was it aliens? A UFO? Or just something totally explainable.

The dark ring spotted over Disneyland had some people questioning what they saw over the weekend. Drivers captured the mysterious dark ring while driving on Interstate 5. Drivers weren't sure what they were seeing with some thinking it could be a giant flock of birds and others thinking it could be the Matrix, per KTLA. However, the real explanation was much more simple that that. Check out a video shared by KTLA on YouTube below.

According to KTLA, the dark ring is just smoke from pyrotechnics at Disneyland. They have lots of nighttime happenings and sometimes have to test them to make sure they run as expected during the nighttime extravaganzas. KTLA says it was just a part of some testing before the park opened. Nothing to be concerned with.

Unfortunately, this isn't the proof of aliens some of us were hoping for. Maybe next time.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
