A couple who survived a Grizzly Bear attack in British Columbia are thanking their lucky stars. They came out of the attack hurt but alive. You don't want to run into a grizzly bear and her cubs on a hike!

Thankfully, it sounds like this couple knew what they were doing on their hike and had the right equipment with them. Global News says Shauna and Chris Terai were hiking in the McGregor Mountains northeast of Prince George when they ran into the mama Grizzly Bear and her cubs. Shauna was able to hit the SOS on her satellite communication device which gave Chris time to distract the bear. What if they didn't have the satellite device with them? It would have gone much worse. See a video report shared by Global News on YouTube below.

Thankfully, it sounds like they will be okay. Now they'll have a story to share for the rest of their lives. What a terrifying encounter! It's stuff like this that makes me never want to hike despite how beautiful it can be. It's their home, not mine!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
