On Sunday, Oct. 12, Hollywood star and Celtics superfan Mark Wahlberg was spotted filming scenes at TD Garden for his upcoming Apple TV+ movie Weekend Warriors. The filming took place during halftime for the Boston Celtics' preseason game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was accompanied by his young co-star Indie DesRoches, which drew attention on social media.

The film Weekend Warriors follows a father's journey across NBA arenas with his autistic son to help him choose his favorite team. It is inspired by the German film Weekend Rebels and is based on a true story of a father-son bonding experience as the pair visit every soccer team in Germany, from the first division to the third.

Although the film's release date has not been announced, LeBron James is listed as a producer of Weekend Warriors through his Spring Hill Productions.

According to a ProFootballNetwork.com report, Wahlberg is one of Boston's most famous sports fans. He remains a continual presence at Celtics' home games.

ProFootballNetwork.com noted that while the Celtics are expected to make the playoffs, the team isn't considered genuine title contenders "unless guard Jaylen Brown has an MVP-caliber season and point guard Derrick White makes his first All-Star team. Head coach Joe Mazzulla will also aim to help players such as center Neemias Queta, wing Baylor Scheierman, and guard Hugo Gonzalez develop," according to the sports media outlet's report.
