A bride and groom played a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine whose last name to take. Have you ever heard of that?

This is the first time I've ever heard anything like this! Typically, the bride takes the groom's last name but it's 2025. Things are different these days and not everything is as traditional as it once was when it comes to weddings and getting married. Anything is possible! That includes a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide whose last name to take. The video of the game with high stakes was shared on Instagram and is now going viral. See who ended up winning the game below.

The 2 names were Pearce and Hunter, with Pearce appearing to be his and Hunter for her. He won the first round with scissors beating paper. In Round 2, she tied the game with paper beating rock. Then in Round 3, the final round, she beat him with scissors over rock. Congratulations to the Hunters!

The video is captioned, "Ro Sham Bo. HIGH STAKES! Loser takes winners last name." How cute is that? A cool way to celebrate gender equality. Would you consider doing this?

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
