Why did a Florida Man call the cops on his neighbors hundreds of times? That seems a bit excessive, no?
A 72-year-old Florida Man has reportedly been arrested for stalking and filing false claims after calling 911 on his neighbors 647 times this year alone! That's just this year! For those who don't feel like doing simple math, that's much more than 1 call a day! Can you imagine living next to that? Those calls are just for the neighbors! The Smoking Gun reports he called 911 more than 3,400 times in the first 5 months of the year! That's wild! That man has been identified as 72-year-old Samuel Lee Thomas, per The Smoking Gun. Why Did A Florida Man Call The Cops On His Neighbors Hundreds Of Times?
According to The Smoking Gun, police responded to a 911 call outside of a St. Petersburg residence regarding someone shooting an AR-15 rifle in the roadway. However, when officers arrived they found a family BBQ with small children at play. That was apparently one of his hundreds of calls to 911 on his neighbors.
Neighbors say he often stops in front of their residence to yell obscenities at her and her family. One neighbor previously wanted to press charges but was scared how it could escalate after that. You never really know!
He was arrested for stalking and false report of a crime and charged with resisting arrest after tussling with officers attempting to cuff him. According to The Smoking Gun, Thomas' rap sheet includes multiple battery convictions and convictions for DUI; pot possession; disorderly intoxication; passing bad checks; violating probation; and failure to return rented merchandise. Don't call the cops on your neighbors that many times! If you have an issue, talk to them about it!
