Did a Jawbreaker candy actually break a woman's jaw? It looks like it, I guess the name actually fits.

When they say "Jawbreaker" they aren't kidding! A Jawbreaker actually broke this woman's jaw! I always thought it was just a playful name and didn't consider that it could actually end up doing this! It happened to a college student named Javeria Wasim who chomped down on it and it broke her jaw in 2 pieces! Check out a video report shared by Inside Edition on YouTube below.

Jawbreaker Actually Breaks Woman's Jaw

The video is captioned, "A Jawbreaker actually broke this woman's jaw. College student Javeria Wasim says she chomped down on a Jawbreaker candy and it broke her jaw in two places. Wasim ended up in the emergency room. The candy has been around for over a century and they come in all sizes, from marble-size to super-sized. Wasim had her jaw wired shut for about six weeks. A strictly liquid diet caused her to lose weight fast."

At least one benefit came out of it! If you're looking to lose weight quickly, try breaking your jaw! Ouch. I don't know if I can eat one again! Knowing that this is a potential consequence, I'll be too scared to enjoy the candy!

The video has more than 56k views since being shared on April 17th. There are also nearly 400 comments to go along with it. Commenters all seem to agree that it's right there in the name and you have to be careful!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
