A former Virginia and Ohio TV weatherman has been arrested on sexual extortion charges. Forecast is not bright.
Usually, your TV weatherman (or person) is a trusted source in your house. You rely on them with their forecasts so you know what the weather is going to be and if you can go golfing tomorrow morning or if you should reschedule. People often love their weather forecasters as they see them every day on TV. However, it seems like not every TV weatherman can be trusted. This one was accused of recording a video without the victim's consent and threatened to release the video!
Former TV Weatherman Arrested On A Fugitive Warrant
According to NBC News, 42-year-old Joshua Fitzpatrick was charged with sexual extortion after he was arrested in Ohio this week. An investigation recently started looking into him after an assault was reported. A release obtained by NBC News says, "The victim reported that after a consensual sexual encounter, they were extorted and threatened with the release of a video taken unknowingly and without their consent."
NBC News reports that Fitzpatrick left his position with NBC affiliate WVIR in early March. The release mentioned that investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who has had contact with him is encouraged to reach out to the Albemarle County Police Department.
