Did a neck massage nearly kill a guy in China? That's what it sounds like and that could not have been a great massage.
Sometimes, a massage might not be enough. You might want them to go harder and go deeper. That's when a deep tissue massage might be a good call. There are various techniques used to go deep and get you what you need. However, you don't want your massage to almost kill you! Sounds like that's what almost happened here with a firm neck massage in China that almost left the recipient dead! You want your massages to be relaxing and that doesn't sound very chill.
Firm Neck Massage Nearly Kills A Man
According to Oddity Central, a 26-year-old man received a vigorous neck massage to relieve pain after suffering from a stroke. It sounds like it was all going as planned until he felt a sharp pain in his neck during a more vigorous maneuver by the massage therapist. That was reportedly followed by a headache but the patient didn't think much of it until he woke up the following morning with numbness and weakness on his left side. He went to get it checked out and was diagnosed with a secondary cerebral infraction, per Oddity Central.
It's a good thing he went and got it checked out in a timely manner! Getting there in time prevented permanent damage. That's not how you want your massage to go! It should relax you and put you at ease. Almost killing you is certainly not ideal. This isn't the first time this has happened either. Someone died last year during a neck-twisting massage. That's always been my fear. I've seen videos and they really crank that neck aggressively! Something could easily go wrong I feel like. Sure, the pop sounds cool but it looks scary! That's the main reason I've never gone to get a massage even though I really need one.
