Houston Dentist Busted Driving With More Than 100 Canisters Of ‘Laughing Gas’
A Houston dentist was reportedly busted driving with more than 100 canisters of Laughing Gas. Police allege he was huffing and driving.
Your car is not the seat at the dentist. It is not the place to be huffing Laughing Gas, also known as nitrous oxide. It’s a common thing at the dentist for people with anxiety, it can help make the procedure a little more enjoyable and stress-free allowing the dentist to do their job safely and effectively. However, huffing and driving Laughing Gas is not a good idea–and a dentist should know that! It sounds like this wasn’t his first time getting in trouble with the law.
Was A Houston Dentist Busted Huffing Laughing Gas And Driving?
There is a time and a place for Laughing Gas. On the road is certainly not that place. Reports say Christopher Pedlar, a Houston dentist and university professor, was arrested for driving with more than 100 canisters of nitrous oxide (commonly known as Laughing Gas). ABC13 reports that it’s believed he was huffing the gas while driving. That’s a lot of canisters! However, it’s not the first time he’s gotten in trouble for pretty much the same thing. ABC13 reports that court records show Pedlar has been charged 3 times since October for possession of nitrous oxide which is a regulated gas. In 2 of those 2 occasions, he reportedly had more than 100 canisters on him. Getting busted 3 times since October is not good considering that’s not even 6 months ago.
ABC13 says Pedlar was clocked speeding on West 19th Street and refused to pull over at first. He later stopped and a deputy found 107 canisters of Laughing Gas in the back seat and one of those containers was reportedly ice-cold and attached to a mask which leads one to believe that he was using it. While it’s not necessarily a smoking gun, it’s probably enough where law enforcement can do the math.
An officer tells ABC13, “When they questioned him, he admitted to inhaling the gas. The defendant told the officer he has a problem and had been using it all day.” He is currently out of jail on bond and his dental license is still active for now.
