Dozens Arrested During Super Bowl Celebrations In Philadelphia
Dozens of people have been arrested during Super Bowl celebrations in Philadelphia. What’s the old saying, “act like you’ve been there before?”
Winning the Super Bowl is a feeling I am not familiar with. My team is yet to win one and I can imagine when they eventually do, the city will lose its collective mind. I know I certainly will. It’s not easy to win a Super Bowl! It doesn’t happen every year, or even every decade. Some fans have never seen their team win the big game. That includes fans in Detroit, Atlanta, Arizona, Buffalo, Carolina, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Los Angeles (Chargers), and Tennessee. Those are a lot of fans who haven’t experienced the glory of going all the way. Philadelphia has been there. They won the Super Bowl back in 2017-2018 and just recaptured the Lombardi Trophy this year. They’ve been there before. However, you would not guess that looking at the scene that unfolded following their big win. See a report from NBC10 Philadelphia on YouTube below.
Dozens Arrested During Super Bowl Celebrations In Philadelphia
According to USA Today, the Philadelphia Police Department made at least 38 arrests during Super Bowl celebrations including charges of vandalism and disorderly conduct to aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Not everyone is out there to have a good time and celebrate. Some people will use that chaos to spread even more problems. That appears to be the case here. You’re all on the same time! You’re supposed to be happy and celebrating your win! Some of the more serious charges involve assaulting police officers which is never a good idea.
It was a crazy scene that played out on video and in pictures for all of us to see. There were fights, fires, and fans climbing on whatever they could get their hands on. USA Today reports that 4 city garbage trucks and 4 businesses were damaged during the celebrations.
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Super Bowl that happened at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
