Donut Shortage
Dunkin’ is Experiencing a Donut Shortage Around the Country
America loves their donuts. Like many, we enjoy donuts as well. What if you went to get your donuts in the morning and the display cases were empty. There might be some panic, right? That is exactly what’s happening at states around the country as Dunkin’ is experiencing a donut shortage.
According to AP, “Dunkin’ stores in Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island in Nebraska all had no doughnuts in their cases Thursday and Friday and put up signs on their doors and drive-thru kiosks informing customers that the pastries were unavailable “due to a manufacturing error.” Some locations did offer “Munchkins,” or doughnut holes, on Friday.” It’s only temporary and there should be donuts back soon.
We don’t think that the reporter had enough panic in his voice over the news that there is a donut shortage. We imagine a donut shortage to create more of a riot. The reporter casually gave his explanation and even interviewed a woman who didn’t seem to share the shows outrage. She calmly explained that there were no donuts and how it was disappointing.
So, we had to provide our own example of how a donut shortage should be handled. I mean, Dave played the serious ‘Breaking News’ sound effect to let everyone know how important it was to know about the shortage. Andy was a reporter trying to keep the peace against an angry mob attempting to eat donuts. Chuck on the other hand, was the zombie-like character who was so hungry without donuts that he began to eat the news’ cameras.
At the end of the day, it’s a manufacturing error and donuts should be back on shelves. And luckily, for us savvy donut eaters, you can always just hit up another shop to find what you’re craving. We don’t live in a world completely without donuts yet.
