Was An Alabama Car Thief Caught By Santa?
Was an Alabama car thief caught by Santa? Yes, yes they were–it’s important to remember that he’s always watching!
This is like something out of a movie where the criminal is caught by Santa. I think of the scene in “Christmas With The Kranks” where the burglar is stopped by Santa with an umbrella. Only this isn’t Hollywood, it’s all too real. It’s a good thing Santa was on the scene or else he might have gotten away with it! It turns out, he works more than one day a year and he’s always on the lookout. So, don’t go trying anything during the holiday season!
Alabama Car Thief Caught By Santa
The incident happened in Jefferson County, Alabama and now Santa is being hailed a hero! When you think of Santa, you probably think of him delivering toys, or at his place at the North Pole, maybe you see him riding a sleigh led by reindeer. You never expect him to come save the day and stop a car thief in Alabama. However, that’s what seems to have happened here.
ABC 3340 reports that 18-year-old Derrion King was charged with receiving property (1st degree) with a $15,000 bond and attempting to elude a police officer. Deputies were alerted to a stolen car and they eventually located the stolen Nissan Altima pulling into a church. They had the vehicle surrounded by the suspect reportedly took off on foot running into a nearby wooded area. Not long after, deputies discovered Santa had detained the suspect. It turns out, Santa was actually retired deputy Larry Williams who was dressed in a Santa suit and was volunteering at a local church. It sounds like the suspect was trying to blend in with the crowd but Santa always knows who to look for. Sheriff Mark Pettway tells ABC 3340, “We need all the help we can get. Thank you, Santa, for the assist! Even Santa has our back when it comes to fighting crime.”
You can see King’s mugshot provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office below. Santa is always watching! This was not the time to act up and now he has been put on the Naughty List. Good thing Santa was there to stop the suspect and bring him to justice. I think we will definitely be seeing something like this in a movie very soon. It’s just too good. Hero Santa? Yeah that will be a blockbuster.
