4 Thoughts We Had While Watching Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega’s ‘Death of a Unicorn’ Trailer
Death of a Unicorn is an upcoming comedy-supernatural horror film starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, and Richard E. Grant. The story follows Elliot and Ridley, a father and daughter played by Rudd and Ortega, who accidentally crash into a unicorn while on their way to meet with Elliot’s boss, Dell Leopold (Grant). Upon discovering the healing abilities of the unicorn’s flesh, blood, and especially its horn, Elliot’s boss wants to exploit the creature—until another unicorn seeks revenge.
Based on the trailer, it looks like a fun movie that will make you scared at first, then you’ll end up laughing until the next creepy scene. It seems to be a movie that you’d want to see with your friends. Aside from these observations, here are our other thoughts about the trailer.
Death of a Unicorn Shows us Unicorns Can Be Freaking Scary
When we hear unicorns, our immediate thought is a gentle creature that poops rainbow and sprinkles. But this trailer shows us the exact opposite. Unicorns are scary, and they can really skewer you with their horns. They also have sharp teeth that can rip you to shreds. Basically, they’re what nightmares are made of.
Jenna Ortega is Iconic in Every Role
Jenna Ortega ate every role she plays, be it as Wednesday Addams, or as Astrid Deetz in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, or even as Sabrina Carpenter’s rival in her music video for “Taste.” This movie seems to be no exception. We can’t embed the trailer because it’s NSFW. Just watch Ortega in all her awesomeness here, saying the obvious, “It’s a f—ng unicorn!”
Paul Rudd in all His Handsome “Ruddness”
Is he even aging? We would like everything he’s using for his skincare regimen, please. Of course, his acting is still impeccable. We’re just distracted at how young he looked even if they tried to make him look older by wearing outdated glasses.
Will Poulter’s Comedic Timing
Who knew Will Poulter was funny? We still can’t forget him for killing Chuck in The Maze Runner but with this movie, he’s close to being forgiven, especially when they find out that Elliot and Ridley have run over a unicorn. He quips, “I don’t think I should be in swim shorts for this moment,” or when he joked after finding out the unicorn is a literal gold mine, “Here’s to hoping we kill Bigfoot on the way home.”
Death of a Unicorn is set for release in Spring 2025.
