Side hustles are becoming more popular and are a great way to not only earn some extra cash, but can end up becoming your main source of income! We’ve seen many people ditch their careers in favor of making money on OnlyFans. It’s even paying off mortgages for homes and giving people more money than they could have ever dreamed of. However, OnlyFans isn’t the only side hustle out there that could turn into your career. People are making money in all sorts of ways, including making tiny models of beetles holding sex toys. Seems like an eccentric idea, but it’s paying the bills for one Colorado artist!
Artist Makes Money Making Tiny Models Of Beetles Holding Sex Toys
There are lots of accounts on OnlyFans. So, it might be hard to break through the clutter and make a name for yourself with all of that competition. So, you might want to consider a different way to make some money on the side. You know what is not as common? Making tiny models of beetles holding sex toys and selling those. It might seem incredibly odd, but it appears to be working!
According to Metro, Shelby Walton, of Denver, Colorado, has created more than 1,000 pieces of art using insects including beetles holding sex toys in human-like positions. They say the miniatures started as pretty tame but became dirtier over time. Hey, you have to keep evolving. If you’re not growing you’re dying. Most of the ideas and art seem to center around the theme of sexual freedom, taking what is generally frowned upon and celebrating it. Shelby tells Metro, “I’ll have bugs embracing their sexuality in a dirty scene. I made a bug that is sitting, using a vibrator, and smoking a vape. I also made a gender-bending bug, which is wearing high heels but it’s got a big d*ck and is holding a used condom and handcuffs. Or I’ll have words like w*ore and s*ut, which are used to describe people in derogatory ways, and flip it on its head by putting it with a beautiful butterfly. That way it kind of takes the sting away from the word and adds a beautiful element to it.” These are definitely one-of-a-kind and I’ve never seen anything like it.
Shelby says that each piece of art takes between 2-8 hours to create depending on its intricacy, per Metro. You can see some of the beetles holding sex toys here. You can also see some of the creations from ‘CuriOddities by Shelby’ on Instagram below!
