Does a man who faked his own death appear in a viral TikTok video? It definitely looks like it's him!

A video is currently going viral on TikTik that shows a man who looks a lot like a guy accused of faking his own death in Green Lake County, Wisconsin. Could it actually be him? It certainly looks like it. Ryan Borgwardt went missing in August after not coming home from a kayaking trip and it seems like he might not have been missing at all! Now, Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll announced that the missing kayaker was, in fact, never missing at all.

The shocking twist is getting national attention now. Sheriff Podoll tells WBAY, "You know we're a small department. They say that things don't happen in Green Lake County, but they do. Never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever have anything like this." That's true. Not every Sheriff has to deal with a unique problem like this. It's far from ordinary.

On Friday, the Sheriff's Office revealed that 45-year-old Borgwardt faked his own death. According to WBAY, digital forensic analysis shows Borgwardt planned his disappearance to Europe and attempted to conceal those efforts including being in contact with a woman in Uzebekistan. Wow! He had a whole plan mapped out! Several tips have come out since the announcement on where he might be including a TikTok video shot in June by someone in San Diego. It sounds like that video was recorded at Pacific Beach in San Diego, California. Baylee Boomhower is seen in the video holding up a sign asking if anyone wanted free advice when a man on a bike approaches her asking, "should I go to Uzbekistan or stay here?" Umm...strange coincidence? You don't hear a lot of people talk about Uzbekistan and now he has a couple of connections to the country.

Boomhower tells WBAY, "When I first heard that from the original video, I was just, I had never even heard of that place before so it was just a very like odd parallel that the man that's missing is also connected to Uzbekistan." Boomhower informed law enforcement about the video. Sheriff Podoll says that anything they can get they will go through to see if it will help and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward. At first, it was believed it wasn't him in the video but they are continuing to investigate. How could it not be? It looks just like him and to mention Uzbekistan just seems too intentional!

In a statement obtained by WBAY, Caroline Clancy, a Public Affairs Officer for the FBI Milwaukee wrote, "The FBI Milwaukee is assisting with the investigation of Ryan Borgwardt in Green Lake County. The FBI routinely offers assistance to our law enforcement partners, to provide additional manpower and specialized resources. For details about the investigation, please contact the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office, which is the lead investigative agency. The FBI values strong collaboration with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners across Wisconsin."

5 of the Craziest Cringeworthy Crimes Ever Committed

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.

Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America's Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I'm not sure if those shows are around...and I'm certain Spike TV isn't around anymore. That's a story for another time.

Craziest Crimes

Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.

While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces. That's why I've gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best. Let's be honest...what's better than reading a story about one of the craziest crimes ever committed? Or, watching Dave and Chuck the Freak talk about some of the dumbest crimes ever committed? Personally, I'm going with the funny storytellers.

They add their own two cents and perspectives on these stories that nobody else could provide. Not even those talking heads on the dumbest criminal shows. Am I the only one who remembers those? I feel like they were a staple on TruTV or VH1, but now all I can find on TruTV is Impractical Jokers, which is awesome but...you get it. Let's not delay! Here's the list!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
