Florida Father Chased Alleged Peeping Tom While Holding A Beer

A Florida father chased an alleged Peeping Tom with a baseball bat while holding a beer! Only in Florida would something like this happen.

The impressive feat instantly puts him in the running for Florida Man Of The Year, but he's going to have some steep competition! The incident happened in Flagler County and it sounds like he had been waiting for the Peeping Tom who had been terrorizing their neighborhood for around a year. Well, he finally got what he was waiting for.

As a father, you want to protect your family. The last thing you want is some creep watching your daughter--or any member of your family--from outside looking through a window. If you were to ever discover that happening, who knows how you'd react? This father took matters into his own hands by chasing the alleged Peeping Tom with a baseball bat...and holding a beer at the same time!

According to FOX 35 News, the father camped out in his backyard on September 13th waiting for the suspect who he says has been terrorizing their neighborhood for around a year. It sounds like he didn't have to wait very long. The man told FOX 35, "He was up at my daughter's window [looking in]. I said a couple choice words, and when he turned toward me, I swung the bat. It didn't seem to phase him, he was a pretty big dude, so I was going to go for his head, and when I did, he started to run."

Security cam footage shows him chasing the man down while yelling for someone to call the police. You can see the shadows of a man being chased in the background. He can even be heard on video saying, "Where [are] you going, boy? Come here--come here--I got something for you!" That something was a Louisville Slugger. According to FOX 35, the suspect was see in the area recently and was even seen outside the same house the night prior. This wasn't the first time it's happened and he's reportedly filed numerous police reports but this time opted to take matters into his own hands.

The man tells FOX 35, "I sat in the chair, I grabbed a beer and a baseball bat. I didn't think he would show up because who has the nerve to show up at the exact same time that the cops were called to a place the next night?" The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Damon Smith who lives only one block away, per FOX 35. FOX 35 reports that he was wearing a Michael Myers T-shirt while prowling which makes it even scarier. It sounds like he has a bit of a troubled past and was previously arrested for a bomb threat at a high school in Flagler County back in 2013, per FOX 35. This dad might not only be the Florida Man Of The Year, but possibly Father Of The Year, as well.
