Where Can Participants Register?
Boston Marathon participants can register via Athletes' Village, the official online platform for the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.).
How Long Is The Registration Window?
Qualifier registration for the 2025 Boston Marathon begins on Monday, September 9 at 10 AM ET and will close on Friday, September 13 at 5 PM ET.
How Do You Qualify For the 2025 Boston Marathon?
The qualifying window for marathon hopefuls began on September 1, 2023 and is open through September 13, 2024. All runners looking to qualify must submit qualifying marathon times that correspond with their age and gender. The qualifying time standards must correspond with the age of the runner on the date of the 2025 Boston Marathon. (Time standards are listed below.)
Times submitted must be related to a full marathon distance run and will be subject to review and verification. Times from indoor or virtual marathons are not accepted. Runners must be at least 18 years old by the date of the race.
The fastest runners in each age and gender group will be selected for the race, which will feature 30,000 participants. The B.A.A. notes, "Historically, runners who beat their qualifying standard by a larger amount of time are more likely to be accepted into the Boston Marathon."
All applicants will be notified whether or not they have been accepted as a race participant by early October.

What Is The Entry Fee For The Boston Marathon?
If you have been accepted as a race participant, the entry fee is $250 USD. This fee will be processed once a runner has been accepted as an official participant. At the time of registration, marathon hopefuls will have the chance to purchase registration insurance.
