It’s become a bit of an international mystery. However, authorities think they might be onto something. According to The Guardian, authorities say it could be a case of poisoning?
The Guardian reports that the bodies of 3 women and 3 men were discovered by a hotel worker on Tuesday July, 16th. Reports say the group were Vietnamese and two of them had American citizenship. It appears that there was no sign of a break-in and the door was locked from the inside. Now, it’s believed that the cause of death was “presumably something related to consumption which needs to be investigated,” per The Guardian.
It sounds like law enforcement is thinking it was something they drank. Metropolitan police bureau commissioner Thiti Saengsawang tells The Guardian, “The food was untouched but all six cups were used. We will check all of it. We could not find anything else around ,even on the floor, but we found some kind of powder in the bottom of a cup.”
They are continuing to investigate the matter and believe it to be a killing and not some sort of a group suicide thing, per The Guardian. I remember a few years ago there was issue with alcohol in the Dominican Republic that was reportedly killing tourists. Could this be something similar? It’s strange that they noticed a powder in the cups. A video report from The Sun says the powder is cyanide. What do you think?
