A Detroit firefighter has been arrested after reportedly assaulting another firefighter while fighting a fire! Focus! We’ve got bigger problems here to deal with!

Here’s more on this trending story out of Detroit, Michigan. The story is just as crazy as the headline implies!

Detroit Firefighter Assaults Another Firefighter

“Detroit firefighter fights firefighter while fighting fire” is certainly a mouthful. However, can you imagine if your house is on fire and the people who are supposed to be responsible for putting it out are distracted fighting one another instead of the fire? How angry would you be? Unfortunately, someone had to learn this lesson the hard way.

According to Click On Detroit, a Detroit firefighter was arrested after he assaulted a fellow firefighter as they were putting out a fire on Meyers Road near Schoolcraft at 2am on Saturday. Things got so heated (no pun intended) that the chief on the fire scene had to call the Detroit police for help!

Click On Detroit reports that the firefighter comes from a Detroit firefighter family. He must take an immense amount of pride in his work, so I can’t imagine what would possibly lead to a fight between co-workers getting so out of hand. It’s one thing if a fight breaks out back at the station, or something. However, fighting while actively putting out a fire is a terrible look for both the firefighters and the city! You’re supposed to be professional while wearing that uniform. People and kids look up to firefighters! Can you imagine if they saw this in the community! Especially in Detroit where arson and house fires are a major concern and a problem across the city. The Detroit Fire Department has bigger things to worry about than firefighters fighting firefighters–there are real fires to go out and fight!
