Suspect Caught After Leaving Footprints In Cajun Seasoning

They say "proof is in the pudding," but it can also be in the Cajun seasoning! That's how a burglar in Johnstown, Pennsylvania was caught and busted.

If you're going to commit a crime, you don't want to leave any traces behind. You don't want to leave fingerprints, hair, DNA, or your footprints behind in Cajun seasoning. Here's how it played out.

According to WTAJ, Quasir Stephens was arrested after police were called to an apartment complex on reports of a break-in. Upon arrival, the victim told police that Stephens had came into the apartment through a side window before exiting through the front door. Police noticed several shoes thrown in the alley, an open living room window, and a broken side window in the basement, per WTAJ. They also noticed that the kitchen floor was covered in Cajun seasoning and a cabinet door above the oven was missing.

When police went to check out Stephens' place they found footprints outside that matched the ones found in the Cajun seasoning in the kitchen of the apartment. Officers were able to put two and two together and asked him about it but he said he stopped there but nobody was home, per WTAJ.

While investigating police found marijuana in the home. He has since been charged with a felony burglary charge, a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, and drug-related charges. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for later this week.

That's a crazy way to end up being caught, but seems like it could have been prevented. As the criminal, how do you not notice all of that Cajun seasoning on the floor that you've clearly stepped all over? It seems obvious that it could end up doing you in. For Stephens, it did.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. Sometimes it's the crime itself that's wild, other times, it's the people committing said crimes. These are 5 of the craziest, cringeworthy crimes ever committed.

Crimes can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. However, it takes a very unique individual, a case study if you will, to commit some of these outrageously dumb crimes. Years ago, these criminals would have been featured on Spike TV or one of those America's Dumbest Criminal shows. Today, I'm not sure if those shows are around...and I'm certain Spike TV isn't around anymore. That's a story for another time.

Crimes can happen for a number of reasons. They may happen out of necessity. They could also happen on accident. These crimes, however, do not fall into those categories. These crimes are different. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.

While all of these crimes are crazy and certainly cringeworthy, they also make for excellent conversation pieces. That's why I've gone and found five examples of the wildest stories that Dave and Chuck the Freak have talked about and made a list highlighting the best of the best.
