Bill Belichick’s future plans reportedly include writing a book
Not much has been heard publicly from Bill Belichick since he parted ways with the New England Patriots after the 2023 season. He’s released a few statements on moves such as Bill O’Brien’s hire at Boston College and Matthew Slater’s retirement, but that’s just about it.
However, it sounds like something could be in the works from the legendary head coach. According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Belichick plans on writing a book.

“The nature of the book is not yet fully known,” Marchand wrote on Friday morning. “In light of how he was represented in Apple TV’s recent documentary [The Dynasy], his side of his legendary nearly quarter-century run would be of great interest. However, Belichick may just write about his views on leadership or a topic in that genre.”
Belichick’s portrayal in The Dynasty was seemingly one of the biggest takeaways most had from the 10-part docuseries. Not only fans, but Belichick’s former players criticized criticized the way he was portrayed.
A tell-all from Belichick, who built and oversaw the Patriots’ 20-plus year run of dominance that included six Super Bowl wins, would certainly be a must-buy for any sports fan. A book on leadership, while not having the same behind-the-scenes juice, would also be fascinating in its own regard.
This isn’t the first inkling to Belichick’s future plans, since he won’t be coaching in 2024. According to Marchand Belichick has been in talks with networks about broadcasting jobs but “in meetings, he has told executives he is disinclined to be on a weekly pregame set.” Belichick has also been linked to ESPN and Peyton Manning’s ‘Omaha Productions’ for something resembling Monday Night Football’s Manningcast.
In the meantime, the wait for a Bill Belichick book continues. Belichick was previously profiled in a book by Ian O’Connor in 2018, but was not involved directly in the project.
