Warm Weather Is On The Way And So Is ‘Sunshine Guilt’
Around here at Dave & Chuck “The Freak,” we’re no strangers to being lazy. That’s why you’ll always hear Dave call Chuck a Lazy Baby. Few things in life are more enjoyable than taking a day off of any responsibilities. Procrastinating happens and can be beneficial. However, timing matters when it comes to being lazy. Especially when you could be outside enjoying a sunny day!
According to The New York Post, sunshine guilt is, “the regret you feel when ignoring a beautiful day in favor of more bedtime.” Now, the term is taking off and trending on TikTok. As we prepare for warmer weather and sunshine, this could soon be our reality!
Sometimes, when you decide to take a day off or be lazy when it’s nice outside you can end up feeling down in the dumps. You look outside and realize it’s nice and your friends are probably out there doing something fun, but here you are still in bed at 2pm. That’s sunshine guilt. You feel like you should be out there and could be out there, but you’d rather take a day to yourself. You can’t help when you’re tired. This can end up having a lasting effect on our mental health. So, if you’re going through this or have gone through it–know you are not alone. It’s very common place, and now it’s great that it’s being discussed and shared on social media.
See more on this trend below! Hopefully, you don’t pick a sunny day to be lazy and experience Sunshine Guilt!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
