Why A Controversial ‘Mom Hack’ Is Going Viral

Children's toys are supposed to be fun. However, they can also be useful at the same time, right? Well, that depends. Here's why a controversial 'Mom Hack' is going viral.

Arin Solange is known for reviewing Amazon products on TikTok. Now, she's gone viral by sharing the latest product that's keeping her kids entertained--while they help around the house!

Meet The Kids Clean Car! It allows children ages 2 to 8 years old to clean floors as they have fun riding around on the electric scooter!

Solange's TikTok video already has more than 3.4 million views and counting. She captioned her video, "Working smarter not harder with this mom hack." In the video, the mother shows her son riding around the house on the scooter as the attachment in the front sweeps, mops, and collects dirt and dust on the floor.

The portable cleaning toy also comes with a blue light feature which allegedly kills bacteria and can even be modified to go outside, according to the New York Post.

However, it's not only the $200 price tag that's scaring some moms on the internet. Others are worried about safety as they go up to 5 miles per hour with no seatbelt, according to the New York Post.

Mommy Blogger Melissa Willets had other valid concerns, writing for Parents, "I can't help but feel that we have finally zapped the last inch of fun out of our kids' lives with this product. Now we're asking them to sanitize the floor while they enjoy just being kids."

I understand her complaint. You shouldn't rely on your kids to do your housework for you. Let them be kids!

However, I also don't think it's that big of deal. I don't think anyone is relying on their kids to do the cleaning for them. I'm sure these people will clean after the kids use it and play on it. If you're expecting you're kids to do all the housework for you, I think you can expect it not to be done well. You'll likely have to do it again anyways.

Additionally, these kids seem to still be having fun! I don't think they're aware that it's also doing some cleaning. For me, I see it like killing two birds with one stone. The kids can have fun and do some cleaning at the same time. Without ever even knowing it. It's not like they're doing hard labor here on their hands and knees scrubbing the toilet. I had to do that. Where was Melissa then??
