Bridge Over Troubled Waters Helps Boston’s Youth This Holiday Season
Bridge Over Troubled Waters is using the spirit of the season of giving to help homeless youth in Boston have a joyful holiday.
The statistics are heartbreaking: over 4 million youth and young adults experience homelessness in the United States each year. Of those 14 to 25-year-olds, 11,000 are unhoused in the Boston area. Thankfully, Bridge Over Troubled Waters is building a bridge from homelessness to prosperity while at the same time helping homeless youth have a happy and healthy holiday. They just need our help.
From their latest press release: Bridge Over Troubled Waters is the largest agency in Greater Boston providing a full continuum of services to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. The nonprofit provides programs and services to more than 2,000 youth annually and offers a comprehensive range of survival, health, educational, career, and housing services to encourage the formation of a healthy, productive, and fulfilling adulthood.

There’s a variety of ways you can provide for these young people. If you’re doing some holiday shopping, consider purchasing items from their Amazon Wish List. Donating gift cards is a great way to support these kids, too, as it gives them the choice of what to spend the gift card on. And if you’re reading this on Giving Tuesday, consider making a one-time donation to cover holiday meals and gifts.
You can get more information and links to donate here. And speaking of Giving Tuesday, I’ve rounded up a bunch more worthy causes, both local and national, that I’ve donated to today. You can find those here, along with more information and links to donate. And even if you come across this after Giving Tuesday, don’t let that stop you! The holiday season is a season of giving, and homeless youth in Boston need our help.
