Here Are the 2023 Holiday Shipping Deadlines for the USPS

The 2023 holiday shipping deadlines have dropped. Heh. Saying it like that makes it sound like a big record release, no?

 

Truth be told, though, this is big news. Maybe not as a big as “Metallica drops their new album” news, but still. If you live in New England and have family and friends flung far and wide across the United States, then this is vital information. You need to know when you need to have those holiday gifts shipped off by, and the USPS is “delivering” that information. Ha! See what I did there?

 

Here Are the 2023 Holiday Shipping Deadlines for the USPS

From the USPS press release: “The information below covers domestic, international and military shipping destinations to allow for the timely delivery of cards, letters and packages by Dec. 25th.”

Within the Lower 48 (excludes Alaska and Hawaii)

In addition, the USPS announced it will not have a peak, or demand, surcharge this holiday season. That way, pricing will be a bit more predictable and easier to budget for. They also add that shipping deadlines for international mail vary depending on the destination. You can check out their International Mail and Shipping Services page for details. Oh, and don’t forget to stock up on stamps! I’m quite fond of these ones, if you can still get them.

Art of the Skateboard Forever Stamps: Watch the Artists Shred

Skateboarding is cool. Mailing your rent check is not. Art of the Skateboard Forever stamps are here to change all that.

 

I give all the credit in the world to the United States Postal Service for trying to stay relevant in 2023. I’m a USPS fan. I know I just made the rent check joke, but I’m absolutely throwing a stamp down at the end of each month and popping mine in the mail. Politicians for decades have been trying to dismantle the USPS so they can privatize it and monetize it. Gross. Remember before the 2020 election when the Postmaster General was ripping out sorting machines and mailboxes? GROSS! Leave the USPS alone!

I mean, look at this. They’ve got a new set of Forever stamps created by artists that are former skateboarders. They had a big unveiling event for the new stamps in Phoenix recently. You can read all about that here. How much ass does that kick? They’ve put everything from Elvis Presley to endangered species on postage stamps. But a celebration of skateboarding featuring deck art from actual skateboarders? I’ll be shilling out for a sheet of these to throw on my rent check envelopes ASAP.

 

Art of the Skateboard Forever Stamps: Watch the Artists Shred

As stated in the USPS press release, the Art of the Skateboard stamps feature four unique designs created by skateboarders-turned-artists Crystal Worl, Di’Orr Greenwood, Federico “MasPaz” Frum, and William James Taylor Junior, also known as “Core222.” I thought a nice way to celebrate their achievement would be to share some footage of them on their boards. Not the ones they designed, mind you. Just some clips. Because my literal favorite thing to look at on the internet is skate videos. So watch some shredding with me and keep your eyes open for these new stamps at your local Post Office.

  • Crystal Worl

    Crystal is an indigenous artist from Fairbanks . She doesn’t even need to hop on the board. She got a sock monkey to do it for her!

  • Di'Orr Greenwood

    Di’Orr is a Dine artist and skateboarder from the Northern Navajo Nation. Watch Di’Orr shred at Shiprock.

  • Federico “MasPaz” Frum

    MazPaz is a Columbian-born artist based in D.C. But he does make it up to Boston’s skateparks from time to time.

  • William James Taylor Junior

    The self-taught, self-stylized artist known as Core222 lets his style do the talking.
